Blue Chip Snacks!

Whether you want a healthy snack for you or the kids, or are looking for something to fill a party bowl for company, blue corn chips are a tasty way to offer a healthy snack high in nutritional value.

A study published in the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture found that blue corn tortillas have 20 percent more protein and 8 percent less starch than white chips. Add in a lower glycemic index and you have a snack that is not only good for those who want to lose weight, but for people with diabetes.

Why is blue better? The blue color of the tortillas comes from anthocyanins in the corn, which are the same healthy compounds found in berries and wine.
